Emily's Blog

Hello, my friends!
I am over the moon to be a part of the morning show. I am finally living proof of that old saying, “If you love what you do, you never have to work a day in your life.”
I was born in New York, although I call myself a Ken Caryl girl… A Chatfield graduate to be exact. And my many adventures have brought me everywhere from Europe to California. The stage of Shakespeare’s Globe, to the lights of the Las Vegas Strip. And after years of soul searching, two broken engagements, four different colleges, and millions of hours in the restaurant industry, here I am. Yappin yer ear off on Mix 100.
A quick breakdown of moi includes, but is not limited to:
1. I would gratefully eat sushi for each meal every day of my life if I could afford it.
2. My dirty little secrets include, but are not limited to: a full-on nail polish addiction, Bryan Fuller television series, live bar trivia, Goonies/Pretty Woman quotes, Daddy-Daughter meals, boxed-wine consumption, Marilyn Monroe and Beatles snapshot collecting, and The Gin Blossoms. I freaking love the Gin Blossoms.
3. My doggie, Kramer, is the cutest Shih Tzu on the planet; quite possibly the cutest dog in the world. It’s really not fair to other pups how ridiculously adorable my Kramer is.
4. Friends are my family, and my family is my life… And oh how I love to embarrass my sucker friends and family.
5. I, without fail, say what everyone is thinking but too scared to voice out loud. It’s a blessing… And a curse. (As I’m sure you know from listening to the show!)
Let's be friends! I'm good for a chuckle or three. And please, keep listening to Dom in the Morning with Emily and Jeremy weekday mornings for hours of laughs, stories, and general merriment. You, my dears, rock my world.  Check out my Instagram, Facebook or blog below!

You're about to get married. Puttin' a ring on it. Lockin' it down. Forever and ever. And ever.
Let's hope you grow together, you never give up... You age well.

I have loved tigers since I was a kid. They're majestic and powerful and it's really tough to pull of orange and they rock it.
Enjoy this, and smile.

THIS is bloody fantastic.
High five, Marty Ray. The 7 year-old in me thinks you're really cool.
(Actually, the 33 year-old me thinks you're really cool too.)

Look, I'm not a stoner. Don't hang out with Mary Jane. Not a Doobie Brothers fan.
I'm not against it, but you'll never see me in a tie dye shirt blasting a Bob Marley tune and giggling at my dog for licking himself.
But this song is smooth and wonderful. Like peanut butter gelato. (Which I bet would hit the spot if you were high.)
Snoop Dogg, (welcome back, Snoop. The Snoop Lion thing wasn't working for me.), Stevie Wonder, and Pharrell Williams are a dream team and got this white girl bumpin.

My idea of fashion is red lipstick at 6am and puppy shoes, so I may not be the opinion you want to trust when it comes to "Hot or Not". But I'm a girly girl with a blog, which equals fashion critic these days, so here's some looks from last night's Met Gala.
The theme was China: Through the Looking Glass. You all know how much I love a good costume party, so I gave extra points to those who embraced the Eastern subject.
I also think that some looks were too naked for me personally, but holy skin, you put a cut-out dress on a woman with boatloads of confidence and BAM… Hawt. Hottie hot hot.
Enjoy playing Anna Wintour. (Who, in an ironic twist, made my Not List.)

The video is as fantastic as the title suggests.
If you don't think this is spectacular, we probably shouldn't be friends. (Dom.)

There’s not a lot that embarrasses me. You can’t humiliate the obnoxious. ;-) However, my immense love  of the 1993 Mortal Kombat theme song is my secret shame. I used to think I was a legit techno girl while blasting these beats and rocking my Jncos. (Just kidding, I never has Jncos. THAT embarrassment would trump this crappy song.)
So when the headline said, ‘Acapella Group Recreates Mortal Kombat Theme Song’, I just haaaaaad to give it a listen. (In private, of course. Didn’t want anyone to overhear me squealing with excitement.)
Take a few moments and listen to the original, and the acapella version by The Warp Zone. I hope your inner raver kid appreciates it.

Two of my FAVORITE things in the world are 90s music and Disney songs. God Bless you, Todrick Hall, for making this totally random mash up compilation that brings sheer joy to my heart.
Play it loud and proud, my friends.
