I haven’t been to the gym in 2 weeks. And I have a very common yet totally useless excuse. I’ve been busy. So today after my show I’m going straight there to get a good sweat on. But I’ve been thinking a lot about what I can do while I’m in the studio to help my overall fitness. Drinking lots of water and snacking on fruit is always a big help. I’ve come to believe that snacking in general is very important. Eating 3 meals a day is old thinking. We need more like 5 or 6 small meals every day to bridge the gap. Never let yourself be hangry at work! Also I’ve been planking.
I introduce a song then do this. Really. I do four sets of :60 second planks. And I almost never get caught, but sometimes I do. It’s embarrassing but worth it. Another simple one is the yoga mountain pose. Stretching in general and being mindful of your breathing can make you feel a lot better when you’re stuck in one place for many hours in a day. Which I know a lot of you are! This morning I came across this great article that lays out 11 different simple things you can do to burn calories in the work place. Enjoy!
