We haven’t heard much from Chris Tucker in the last few years. After his arresting performances in Friday, The Fifth Element and the Rush Hour franchise, he took an extended break from Hollywood, only recently reviving his name in celebrity circles with a role in the Oscarific Silver Linings Playbook. Apparently, he’s spent the intervening time on the road doing standup gigs, returning to his comedy roots. Tucker got his start performing on Def Comedy Jam with a young Dave Chapelle and Martin Lawrence.

During a Milwaukee gig on his Return of Chris Tucker tour, the Dead Presidents star made light of his recent $11 million tab from the IRS, telling the audience, “I appreciate you all coming out and helping me out with my taxes. That’s the last time I’m going to ask Wesley Snipes to help me out.”

Later, commenting on his reckless spending habits, he confessed, “I bought two houses right next to each other. I was my own next-door neighbor.” – Westword
