Ariana Grande released a new single “Yes, And?” from her upcoming seventh album, on Friday (January 12) via Republic Records.
Grande, who wrote and produced “Yes, And?” with Max Martin and Ilya Salmanzadeh, recorded the track in New York City.
“‘yes, and?’ say that shit with your chest… and / be your own fuckin best… friend / say that shit with your chest… / keep moving like what’s next?’ ‘yes, and?’” Grande sings in the chorus.
Grande shrugs off her detractors and all their comments and gossip, singing, “Now I’m so done with caring / What you think, no I won’t hide / underneath your own projections / Or change my most authentic life.”
“Don’t comment on my body, do not reply / Your business is yours and mine is mine / Why do you care so much whose [d—] I ride / Why?” she goes on.
The Grammy Award-winning and multi-platinum recording artist first teased the song earlier in the week on social media.
“Yes, And?” is Grande’s first solo song in three years.
Grande recently revealed in an Instagram story that, while “Yes, And?” isn’t the name of her forthcoming album, the single’s artwork will serve as one of her forthcoming album’s cover variants. Check out the new song below.
