Pop star Avril Lavigne and Mod Sun have reportedly called off their engagement, just 10 months after getting engaged.
“Avril and Mod Sun have been on and off for the past two months, but are no longer together as a couple,” People reported, citing an insider.
The couple revealed about their engagement last April after Lavigne shared a black and white photo of Mod Sun proposing to down on one knee.
“Oui! Je t’aime pour toujours,” she wrote in French, which means “Yes! I love you always.”
The engagement took place near the Eiffel Tower in Paris on March 27.
Mod Sun, whose original name is Derek Ryan Smith, had written at that time on his Instagram page, “The day we met I knew you were the one. Together for ever til our days are done. I had a dream where I proposed in paris. I pulled out a ring + asked you to wear it. I was on one knee as I looked in your eyes. You’re too beautiful for my words to describe. I grabbed your hand + took one last breath.I said ‘will you marry me?’ + she said ‘yes’. I love you Avril.”
Lavigne, who has been married twice before, and the rapper began dating in November 2022.
