Beyonce has announced the release of her eighth studio album, Act II, due March 29th via Columbia Records.
The album will serve as the second instalment of her three-part Renaissance project. The global superstar also dropped the first two singles, “Texas Hold ‘Em” and “16 Carriages.”
The singer teased the album by posting a video on her official Instagram page on Sunday, February 11. In the video, an unidentified woman drives car with a license plate that reads “Texas Hold ‘Em.” The woman drives the car down an empty road before the clip then cuts to a group of men staring at a billboard cutout of a red lingerie-clad Beyonce.
“This ain’t Texas,” she sings in the background. “Ain’t no hold ’em/ So lay our cards down, down, down, down.” The clip then cuts to a black screen that reads “Act II, 3.29.”
