Britney Spears Will Not Face Charges In Incident Involving Housekeeper

Pop superstar Britney Spears will not face any charges related to a dispute with her housekeeper.

“District Attorney Erik Nasarenko announced today that Britney Spears will not be charged with any crimes related to an incident that occurred at her residence involving her housekeeper,” the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office announced in a statement.

Late last month, Spears came under investigation for allegedly hitting her housekeeper. The employee had alleged that she had an argument with Spears’ regarding the veterinary care of the singer’s dog.

During the argument, Spears was alleged to have slapped a phone out of the housekeeper’s hand. The housekeeper indicated that the screen protector to the phone was damaged. The housekeeper had no visible injuries.

Misdemeanor Unit Supervisor Blake Heller, who reviewed the case, declined to file charges based upon insufficient evidence that a crime had occurred and the lack of injury to the housekeeper or significant damage to the phone.

“This is overblown sensational tabloid fodder — nothing more than a fabricated ‘he said she said’ regarding a cell phone, with no striking and obviously no injury whatsoever,” Spears’ attorney Mathew Rosengart, had said about the allegations last month. “Anyone can make an accusation, but this should have been closed immediately.”
