Cardi B Wins $1.25 Million In Defamation Lawsuit Against YouTuber

Cardi B has been awarded $1.25 million in damages after the rapper won a defamation lawsuit against celebrity blogger Latasha Kebe.

The jurors also awarded Cardi the expenses and attorneys fees she requested, which will take total damages to up to $4 million.

“After almost four years of repeated libel and slander against me, being able to walk away from this victorious brings me great happiness,” Cardi said in a statement.

“During this trial, all of you have learned about the darkest time in my life. That moment in time was fueled by the vile, disgusting, and completely false narratives that were repeatedly and relentlessly being shared online,” she added. “I thought I would never be heard or vindicated and I felt completely helpless and vulnerable.”

The “Bodak Yellow” rapper had sued Kebe for spreading “false” rumors about Cardi having herpes and HPV in 2018 and early 2019. The blogger had also claimed that Cardi worked as a prostitute, used cocaine, and cheated on her husband Offset.

Meanwhile, Kebe’s lawyer Sadeer Sabbak said in a statement, “We disagree with the verdict, and we will be filing an appeal.”
