DaBaby Deletes Apology For Homophobic Comments From Instagram

DaBaby, who recently created a controversy with his homophobic comments during his set at Rolling Loud Miami, has deleted his apology to the LGBTQ+ community from his Instagram page.

DaBaby made homophobic comments during his set at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida, on July 25. DaBaby had said to the crowd, “If you didn’t show up today with HIV, AIDS, or any of them deadly sexually transmitted diseases that’ll make you die in two to three weeks, then put your cellphone lighter up!”

Despite initially defending his comments, DaBaby later issued an apology. He was also dropped from several music festivals over the outburst, including Lollapalooza and Governors Ball.

“I want to apologize to the LGBTQ+ community for the hurtful and triggering comments I made,” he wrote. “Again, I apologize for my misinformed comments about HIV/AIDS and I know education on this is important.”

Several celebrities condemned DaBaby, including Dua Lipa, who collaborated with DaBaby on her remix of the Future Nostalgia song “Levitating,” Elton John, Demi Lovato and Madonna.

However, Miley Cyrus came forward to help him and educate him, rather than contribute to the “cancel culture.”
