Demi Lovato’s ‘Holy Fvck’ Poster Banned For Being Offensive To Christians

A promotional poster for Demi Lovato‘s latest album, Holy Fvck, has been banned in the U,K, for being offensive to Christians.

Holy Fvck, the singer’s eighth album and a follow-up to 2021’s Dancing With The Devil. The Art Of Starting Over, dropped last year.

The Advertising Standards Agency in the U.K. banned a poster promoting the tour and album, which depicted Lovato in a bondage outfit on a crucifix-shaped mattress.

According to the agency, the poster evoked Christian religious imagery as Lovato was “in a position with her legs bound to one side which was reminiscent of Christ on the cross” and was likely to cause offense to Christians along with the title of the album Holy Fvck.

The ASA upheld complaints that the advertisement would cause “serious or widespread offence” and that it was “irresponsibly placed where children could see it.”

The ASA ruled that the poster could not be used again in that format, “unless it was suitably targeted.”

Posters with artwork with an “album out now” tagline were placed in six locations across London at the time but were pulled down four days later.
