Dolly Parton has congratulated Beyonce for earning an historic No. 1 on Billboard‘s Hot Country Songs Chart with “Texas Hold ‘Em.”
“Texas Hold ‘Em” and “16 Carriages,” the firs two tracks from Beyonce’s upcoming album, Act II, were featured on the chart dated February 24.
With “Texas Hold ‘Em” coming in at No. 1, Beyonce became the first Black woman, or female known to be biracial, to top the Hot Country Songs tally.
Beyonce has also become the only artist to top seven of Billboard‘s multimetric song charts as a solo artist.
She is also the first woman musician to earn No. 1 ranking on both the Hot Country Songs and the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs charts.
Parton made public her joy for the pop star’s achievement with an Instagram post, which reads, “I’m a big fan of Beyonce and very excited that she’s done a country album. So congratulations on your Billboard Hot Country number one single. Can’t wait to hear the full album!”
Act II, which will be Beyonce’s eighth studio album, is scheduled for release on March 29.
