Drake Confirms ‘Certified Lover Boy’ Will Drop By The End Of Summer

During an interview at the Ultimate Rap League’s Night of Main Events XI (NOME XI) on Saturday (June 12), Drake confirmed that he will release his sixth album, Certified Lover Boy, by the end of this summer.

Drake revealed the information after being asked if he would be attending the upcoming Reed Dollaz versus Murda Mook rap battle that will take place at the end of the summer.

“Oh, yeah, I’ll be there. My album will be out by then,” the superstar said.

“Yeah, my album will be out by then,” Drake added, confirming that he’ll be able to attend the event.

The upcoming album will be Drake’s first since the release of Scorpion in 2018.

Drake had planned to drop the much awaited new album in January 2021, but a knee injury prompted him to put aside that plan.

“I was planning to release my album this month, but between surgery and rehab my energy has been dedicated to recovery,” he wrote on Instagram in January.

He added, “I’m blessed to be back on my feet feeling great and focused on the album, but CLB won’t be dropping in January. I’m looking forward to sharing it with you all in 2021.”

Later, reports said he would release the album in April. However, that didn’t happen.
