Dua Lipa Earns Fourth U.K. No 1. Single With ‘Dance The Night’

Dua Lipa has earned her fourth U.K. No. 1 single as “Dance The Night” topped the Official Singles Chart.

Taken from the soundtrack of the blockbuster Barbie movie, “Dance The Night” replaces another hit from Greta Gerwig‘s film, Billie Eilish‘s “What Was I Made For” at No. 1.

Lipa’s previous U.K. chart-toppers are “New Rules” (2017), “One Kiss” with Calvin Harris (2018) and “Cold Heart” with Elton John (2021).

Overall, it’s the first time a British female soloist has reached No. 1 in the U.K. in more than 12 months, since Kate Bush‘s “Running Up That Hill” last year.

Lipa becomes only the sixth British female solo artist to claim four No. 1 singles, pulling level with Ellie Goulding, Rita Ora and Geri Halliwell‘s tally.

“Dance The Night is Number 1 in the UK!!!! birthday week going strong !!! So much love to everyone listening and streaming,” the singer and songwriter said in a statement.

In other news about the latest edition of the U.K. Official Singles Chart, Doja Cat secures her fourth U.K. Top 10 single with “Paint The Town Red” at No. 4.
