Ed Sheeran set a new attendance record at Nashville’s Nissan Stadium, with over 73,000 fans making it to the venue for his performance on Saturday (July 22).
Earlier, Sheeran performed a sold out show at the Ryman Auditorium last Friday.
According to WKRN-TV, Sheeran’s staging was placed on the 50-yard line at the Nissan Stadium and saw Sheeran perform his hits to the largest crowed ever at the home of the Tennessee Titans.
According to Nissan Stadium representatives, 73,874 fans attended Sheeran’s “Mathematics” tour concert on Saturday night, breaking the previous record 70,698 set by Taylor Swift during her Eras Tour concerts.
Sheeran reportedly celebrated the milestone with a trip to Nashville’s favorite dive karaoke bar, Santa’s Pub. He sang the Backstreet Boys‘ “I want it that way” and served drinks behind the bar before leading the crowd with his own “Thinking out loud,” complete with a newly-wed couple slow-dancing.
