Fall Out Boy Earn First No. 1 On Billboard’s Alternative Airplay Chart

Fall Out Boy have earned their first No. 1 on Billboard‘s Alternative Airplay Chart, with “Love From the Other Side” topping the chart dated March 4.

“Love From the Other Side,” one of the songs on the upcoming album So Much (for) Stardust, is the band’s seventh Alternative Airplay top 10.

Fall Out Boy’s eighth studio album, So Much (for) Stardust, is set for release on March 24.

“Love From the Other Side” topped the chart 17 years and nine months after the quartet debuted on the chart with “Sugar” on June 4, 2005.

This is a new record in terms of a band’s longest interval between a first charting song and first No. 1 in the Alternative Airplay survey’s 34-year old history.

Fall Out Boy broke Stone Temple Pilots‘ record of 17-year, two-weeks between their first charting song (“Plush” – 1993) and the first No.1, (“Between the Lines” – 2010).

“Love From the Other Side” is ranked No. 31 on the latest Mainstream Rock Airplay chart, No. 2 on the audience-based Rock & Alternative Airplay chart, and No. 31 on the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart.
