Glass Animals’ ‘Heat Waves’ Ties Record For Longest Run On Billboard Hot 100

Glass Animals‘ “Heat Waves” has tied with The Weeknd‘s “Blinding Lights” for the longest run on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Incidentally, both the songs were released by Republic Records.

“Heat Waves” also broke the record for the longest climb to No. 1, when it reached the summit in its 59th week in March.

Out of the 90 weeks that “Heat Waves” has spent on the Hot 100 chart, 66 were shared with The Weeknd and Ariana Grande‘s “Save Your Tears.”

Released as a single from Glass Animals’ third studio album Dreamland on June 29, 2020, “Heat Waves” is the English indie rock group’s most successful single.

“Heat Waves” debuted at No. 100 on the Hot 100 on January 16, 2021.

“Heat Waves” and “Blinding Lights” are followed by Imagine Dragons‘ “Radioactive” as the song with second-most number of weeks spent on the Billboard Hot 100.
