Jennifer Lopez performed a medley that included her 2000 hit “Let’s Get Loud” at the inauguration of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris on Wednesday (January 20).
The Bronx-born singer, clad in suffragette white and wearing sparkling jewelry that included the $1 million engagement ring from Alex Rodriguez, and her hair pulled back into a half-ponytail, took the stage after Harris was sworn in as Vice President.
Lopez performed a medley of Woody Guthrie‘s “This Land Is Your Land,” “America the Beautiful” and a brief interlude into her own song, “Let’s Get Loud.”
“One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all,” Lopez said in Spanish after ending her performance.
A day earlier, Lopez took to Instagram after her rehearsal during which she took selfies with members of the National Guard.
“What an honor to spend a few moments with these brave men and women,” she wrote on her post. “Thank you for your service and sacrifice. I honor you today and everyday.”
The 59th Inaugural Swearing-In Ceremony saw several other singers, including Lady Gaga and Garth Brooks, honoring the new administration by performing several songs.
