Kanye West Pays Tribute To Late Mother In Video For ’24’

Hip-Hop superstar Kanye West has released a moving tribute to his late mother and namesake of his 10th studio album, Donda, through the official music video for the track “24.”

The video, which premiered on Thursday, September 16, opens with the rapper repeating the verse “He’s done miracles on me” during a set in front of a lively audience at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. He then ascends into the sky and joins his mom as a video of her smiling and laughing is projected onto a gigantic globe.

Directed by Nick Knight, the video eventually finds West traveling beyond the clouds and into a black, seemingly hollow, yet infinite universe by the end of the nearly-5-minute track.

Having garnered north of 2 million views since its release last week, the video follows the music video for the song “Come to Life” on September 1, and arrives 14 years after the death of his mother in November 2007, due to surgery complications. She was 58.
