Kanye West Stirs Controversy By Bringing Out Marilyn Manson, DaBaby At ‘Donda’ Event

Controversy isn’t a new thing for Kanye West, and the rapper stirred up another one during his Donda listening event at Chicago’s Soldier Field by bringing out controversial artists Marilyn Manson and DaBaby.

Last Thursday night, August 26, the rapper brought out Manson, who has been accused of sexual assault by several women, along with DaBaby, who recently found himself embroiled in controversy over his homophobic remarks.

Donda, which is named after Kanye’s late mother Donda West, was originally scheduled to be released in July before being pushed back several times.

West’s new song “Hurricane,” in which DaBaby is featured, was played at the event as well as another song titled “Jail.” Billboard also confirmed that Manson’s voice is featured on the album.

Manson “will continue to conceptually collaborate with Ye on the ‘DONDA’ project,” a rep said to Billboard.

Manson faces several lawsuits from his former girlfriends accusing him of abuse. In April, actress Esmé Bianco filed a lawsuit against Manson alleging she was the victim of sexual abuse by the goth rock singer.

Later, Manson’s ex-assistant Ashley Walters also filed a lawsuit against the singer for alleged sexual assault. Several other women, including actress Evan Rachel Wood and model Ashley Morgan Smithline, have also accused the singer of abuse.

Meanwhile, DaBaby’s appearance came shortly after his set at Rolling Loud festival in Miami, Florida, during which he said to the crowd, “If you didn’t show up today with HIV, AIDS, or any of them deadly sexually transmitted diseases that’ll make you die in two to three weeks, then put your cellphone lighter up!”

Despite initially defending his comments, DaBaby later issued an apology. He was later dropped from several music festivals over the outburst, including Lollapalooza and Governors Ball.
