Alt-pop star Lana Del Rey has announced that her new album Blue Banisters will drop on July 4.
Del Rey’s most recent album was Chemtrails Over The Country Club, which dropped on March 19, 2021, via Interscope Records and Polydor Records.
The album, a follow up to 2019’s Norman F**king Rockwell!, peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart.
Last month, Del Rey had also announced a new album, Rock Candy Sweet, just a day after releasing Chemtrails Over The Country Club, which will arrive on June 1.
Now, we have to watch and see if Blue Banisters is a different working title for Rock Candy Sweet, or if it is a new album altogether.
Del Rey made the announcement of Rock Candy Sweet in response to a Harper’s Bazaar article titled “Lana Del Rey Can’t Qualify Her Way Out Of Being Held Accountable,” which criticized the singer’s cultural appropriation.
“Just want to say thank you again for the kind articles like this one and for reminding me that my career was built on cultural appropriation and glamorizing domestic abuse,” she had then said on Instagram Stories. “I will continue to challenge those thoughts on my next record on June 1 titled Rock Candy Sweet.”
