Lana Del Rey Reveals Stolen Devices Contained 200-Page Manuscript, Unreleased Songs

Singer-songwriter Lana Del Rey has revealed that she was recently robbed and the stolen devices contained a 200-page manuscript and unreleased songs, among other things.

Del Rey posted a series of videos on her Instagram account in which she claimed that a laptop, three video cameras, and multiple hard drives were stolen from her car. Due to the theft, various unfinished songs have been leaked, and a 200-page manuscript for her upcoming book, which she said was not backed up, has been lost.

“A few months ago, I parked my car on Melrose Place – actually Melrose Ave. in Los Angeles – and I stepped away for a minute,” Del Rey said in a now-deleted Instagram Live video. “And the one time I left my backpack inside my car, someone broke all the windows and took it.”

“I had to remotely wipe the computer that had my 200-page book for Simon & Schuster, which I didn’t have backed up on a cloud,” she added. “And despite that, people are still able this week to remotely access my phone and leak our songs and personal photos.”

“Please don’t listen to the music if you hear it because it’s not coming out yet,” Del Rey continued. “And, in terms of the book, I loved the book that I lost with all of my heart and put a lot of passion into it. And in terms of the camcorders, we shall see what happens with that.”
