Lorde has revealed that her third album, Solar Power, will be released on August 20 via Republic Records. She also announced a 2022 North American music Tour.
Speaking about the album, which is a follow-up to 2017’s Melodrama, Lorde said, “The album is a celebration of the natural world, an attempt at immortalizing the deep, transcendent feelings I have when I’m outdoors.”
“In times of heartache, grief, deep love, or confusion, I look to the natural world for answers. I’ve learned to breathe out, and tune in. This is what came through,” she added in a statement.
As she prefers an “environmentally kind, forward-thinking alternative to the CD,” the New Zealand singer-songwriter will be releasing the 12-track record in a disc-less, eco-conscious CD alternative called a “Music Box.”
Tickets for the tour, which is set to kick off on April 3, 2022, will go on sale on June 25 at 10 am local time.
