Lorde recently released two bonus tracks from the deluxe edition of her Solar Power album: “Helen of Troy” and “Hold No Grudge.”
“We wrote it super quickly in the tiniest room at Westlake where we did a bunch of Melo and it was fun the whole time. It’s super off the cuff lyrically, almost ad-libbed, and you can hear me starting to figure out some album themes,” the New Zealand singer-songwriter said of “Helen of Troy.”
“Helen of Troy” was co-written and co-produced by Lorde and Jack Antonoff.
“Hold No Grudge” is a “sort of composite portrait of when relationships turn sour, being trapped in the ice but remembering the warmth,” according to Lorde. The song was co-written by Lorde and Malay.
Lorde’s first studio album since Melodrama (2017), Solar Power debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 albums chart.
