Maroon 5 recently released a music video for their reflective new single “Middle Ground,” featuring frontman Adam Levine‘s wife and daughters.

In the David Dobkin-directed video, the band is seen sitting around in a songwriting session and performing together in a home studio.

Later, Levine’s wife Behati Prinsloo and the couple’s two eldest children, daughters Dusty Rose and Gio Grace appear in the video.

“The creative was to focus on the band – together – through a series of documentary-like images and vignettes: showing the process of creating the track, a ‘making the song’ with the band playing, discussing things and working parts out, including the casual goofing-off moments,” Levine told People.

“Sisters and brothers are picking sides / and both of our mothers are terrified,” Levine croons on the track. “And I’m crying out to an empty sky / tell me, if I hit the ground / and I fall down to my knees, would you hear the sound / am I crazy to think that we, could make it out / am I crazier to believe, there’s a middle ground.”
