Megan Thee Stallion Wins Early Victory In Legal Battle With Record Label

Hip-hop superstar Megan Thee Stallion has scored an early win in her legal battle with her label, 1501 Certified Entertainment.

Earlier this year, Megan had sued 1501 Certified Entertainment, accusing them of trying to stunt her by not considering her 2021 album, Something for Thee Hotties.

In September, the label entered a request for a pre-trial ruling that Something for Thee Hotties doesn’t qualify as an album under Megan’s contract. However, according to a Rolling Stone report, a Texas judge rejected 1501 Certified Entertainment’s motion.

Megan, born Megan Pete, replied to the motion December 19, arguing that she fully complied with the terms of her deal regarding Something for Thee Hotties and deserved a chance to argue her case at trial.

“Pete should be allowed her day in court to present evidence and testimony to the jury demonstrating that she has done all that was required of her in the delivery and release of her albums,” her filing read.

Following the judge’s ruling, Megan Thee Stallion’s $1 million lawsuit against 1501 will now proceed to trial.
