Miley Cyrus Offers To Help Educate DaBaby After Homophobic Comments

Pop superstar Miley Cyrus has offered to help DaBaby after his controversial homophobic comments.

“@DaBaby check your DMS – would love to talk and see how we can learn from each other and help be part of making a more just and understanding future!,” Cyrus wrote on her Instagram.

DaBaby was severely criticized for homophobic comments made during his set at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida, on July 25.

DaBaby had said to the crowd, “If you didn’t show up today with HIV, AIDS, or any of them deadly sexually transmitted diseases that’ll make you die in two to three weeks, then put your cellphone lighter up!”

DaBaby initially defended his comments but later issued an apology after he was dropped from several music festivals over the outburst, including Lollapalooza and Governors Ball.

“I want to apologize to the LGBTQ+ community for the hurtful and triggering comments I made,” the rapper said.

Several celebrities condemned DaBaby, including Dua Lipa, who collaborated with DaBaby on her remix of the Future Nostalgia song “Levitating,” Elton John, Demi Lovato and Madonna.

However, Cyrus has come forward to help him and educate him, rather than contribute to the “cancel culture.”

“As a proud and loyal member of the LGBTQIA+ community, much of my life has been dedicated to encouraging love, acceptance and open-mindedness,” Cyrus said. “The internet can fuel a lot of hate & anger and is the nucleus of cancel culture … but I believe it can also be a place filled with education, conversation, communication & connection.”

“It’s easier to cancel someone than to find forgiveness and compassion in ourselves or take the time to change hearts and minds,” she added. “There’s no more room for division if we want to keep seeing progress! Knowledge is power! I know I still have so much to learn!”
