Oscars Reveal Shortlist For 2024 Best Original Song

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has revealed the shortlist for the Best Original Song category at the 2024 Academy Awards.

Three songs from BarbieDua Lipa‘s “Dance the Night,” Billie Eilish‘s “What Was I Made For?” and “I’m Just Ken” have all made the Best Original Song shortlist.

Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt co-wrote two of the songs, “I’m Just Ken” and “Dance the Night,” while Eilish and Finneas co-wrote “What Was I Made For?”

The list also features Sharon Van Etten‘s “Quiet Eyes,” Jarvis Cocker‘s Asteroid City track “Dear Alien (Who Art in Heaven),” and Olivia Rodrigo‘s “Can’t Catch Me Now” from the soundtrack of The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes.

Two songs from The Color Purple, two songs from Flora and Son, the Lenny Kravitz song “Road to Freedom” from Rustin, Diane Warren‘s “The Fire Inside,” sung by Becky G, from Flamin’ Hot, and “Am I Dreaming” by Metro Boomin x A$AP Rocky x Roisee, from Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse are on the list as well.
