Paramore Named 2024 Record Store Day Ambassadors

Paramore have been named 2024 Record Store Day ambassadors.

The rock band from Franklin, Tennessee, announced the news on social media over the weekend.

The trio also confirmed that they would continue as an independent band after the end of their contract with Atlantic Records.

“After a long career in the music industry we have decided to announce that. we are going to continue to have a long career in the music industry (sorry for any inconvenience),” Paramore wrote on Instagram. “Our first order of business as a freshly independent Paramore is to shine a light on independent record stores – a vital part of our journey from music obsessed school friends to professional music makers.”

They added, “With that being said, we are humbled to be your Ambassadors for Record Store Day 2024. The timing feels kismet.”

Formed in 2004, the band currently consists of lead vocalist Hayley Williams, guitarist Taylor York and drummer Zac Farro.

Late last year, Paramore wiped their social media accounts and the band’s website became inaccessible. A week later, they canceled a co-headlining appearance in Anaheim at iHeartRadio‘s Alter Ego festival “due to unforeseen circumstances”.

They won two Grammy awards this year with their album, This Is Why, winning Best Rock Album and the title track winning Best Alternative Music Performance.
