Paramore‘s Hayley Williams has warned her fans against voting for potential Republican presidential nominee Ron DeSantis.
Speaking in the middle of Paramore’s headlining set at the Adjacent Music Festival in Atlantic City last weekend, the rock band’s lead singer said, “I’ll be happy to tell you I’m very f**king comfortable talking politics. If you vote for Ron DeSantis, you’re f**king dead to me. Is that comfortable enough for anyone?”
Williams is a vehement critic of the Florida governor, who has signed a number of bills targeting the LGBTQ+ community.
DeSantis recently launched his 2024 Presidential primary campaign in an online conversation with Twitter CEO Elon Musk.
He is seen as a tough contender to challenge former President Donald Trump, who has already entered the fray for the GOP nomination.
But in national opinion polls of likely GOP primary presidential aspirants held last month, Trump led by more than 30 points over DeSantis.
Republican primaries will begin in February next year to determine the party’s candidate to fight Democrat President Joe Biden in the November 2024 election.
