Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, R&B Singer Cassie Ventura Settle Abuse Lawsuit

Sean “Diddy” Combs and his former partner Cassie Ventura have resolved the lawsuit filed by the R&B singer in Manhattan federal court against Combs, deciding to settle the matter amicably.

Ventura had filed the case against Combs on Thursday (November 16), alleging physical abuse and rape by Combs.

In the lawsuit, Ventura claimed she “endured over a decade of his violent behavior and disturbed demands,” including repeated physical beatings and forcing her to “engage in sex acts with male sex workers” while he masturbated.

She also claimed that after she attempted to part ways with him in 2018 after 11 years of companionship, Combs forced her into her home and raped her while she repeatedly said “no” and tried to push him away.

The two artists decided to settle the matter amicably on Friday (November 17).

“I have decided to resolve this matter amicably on terms that I have some level of control,” Ventura said in a statement issued by her attorney, Douglas Wigdor. “I want to thank my family, fans and lawyers for their unwavering support.”

Combs responded, saying, “We have decided to resolve this matter amicably. I wish Cassie and her family all the best. Love.”

The release says, “the parties will have no further statements” and does not disclose the terms of settlement.

“Just so we’re clear, a decision to settle a lawsuit, especially in 2023, is in no way an admission of wrongdoing,” Combs’ attorney, Ben Brafman, said in a statement. “Mr. Combs’ decision to settle the lawsuit does not in any way undermine his flat-out denial of the claims. He is happy they got to a mutual settlement and wishes Ms. Ventura the best.”
