SZA and Doja Cat have teamed up for a remix of the SOS hit “Kill Bill.” SZA released the new version last Thursday (April 13) via TDE/RCA Records.
The duo teased the track a few hours before its release with Doja telling SZA that she “did something bad.”
The album version of “Kill Bill” earned SZA her first solo No. 1 at top 40 radio and broke the record with 16 weeks at No. 1 by a female artist on Billboard‘s Hot R&B/Hip Hop Songs chart.
Doja, who was set to feature on the original version of “Shirt,” couldn’t do that due to her emergency tonsil procedure.
“She had surgery, she had to have that emergency, like, vocal cord surgery and she wasn’t ready in the time that we needed to get the song done,” SZA explained at the time of S.O.S.‘s release last year.
SZA and Doja previously worked together on their 2021 collaboration “Kiss Me More” off Doja’s Planet Her. The duo won the Grammy award for best pop duo/group performance and also scored additional nominations for record of the year and song of the year.
