Taylor Swift says she was “blown away” by Halsey‘s new album, If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power.
Halsey’s fourth album, which was released on August 27, explores themes of pregnancy and motherhood.
“I’m blown away by @halsey’s artistry and commitment to taking risks,” Swift wrote on social media. “Giving us all a brave new era to dive into and explore together. If I can’t have love, I want power is out now- please stream and buy the album.”
Halsey described the release, which came a month after she gave birth to her first child, as “a concept album about the joys and horrors of pregnancy and childbirth. It was very important to me that the cover art conveyed the sentiment of my journey over the past few months.”
In a music video she shared on Twitter along with the debut of her album, the 26-year-old singer-songwriter said, “I have waited my whole life to be exactly where I am right now, and at times I have enjoyed the darkness along the way. It’s now your turn.”
