Taylor Swift To Release Re-Recorded Version Of ‘Red’ In November

Taylor Swift has announced plans to release Red (Taylor’s Version), a re-recorded version of the pop superstar’s hit 2012 album Red, on November 19.

“This will be the first time you hear all 30 songs that were meant to go on Red,” Swift wrote in a note to fans. “And hey, one of them is even ten minutes long.”

In April, Swift had released Fearless (Taylor’s Version), the first re-recorded album in her music career. It debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.

Red was Swift’s fourth studio album and has earned 7.5 million equivalent album units to date, according to MRC Data. It included Swift’s first career Hot 100 No. 1 single “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,” as well as hits like “I Knew You Were Trouble,” “22” and “Everything Has Changed” with Ed Sheeran.

“Musically and lyrically, Red resembled a heartbroken person,” Swift wrote. “It was all over the place, a fractured mosaic of feelings that somehow all fit together in the end. Happy, free, confused, lonely, devastated, euphoric, wild, and tortured by memories past.”

“Like trying on pieces of a new life, I went into the studio and experimented with different sounds and collaborators,” she added. “And I’m not sure if it was pouring my thoughts into this album, hearing thousands of your voices sing the lyrics back to me in passionate solidarity, or if it was simply time, but something was healed along the way.”
