The Weeknd’s ‘Blinding Ligths’ Becomes First Song To Reach 4 Billion Spotify Streams

The Weeknd‘s hit song “Blinding Lights” has reached a big milestone, becoming the first song to reach 4 billion streams on Spotify.

“I’ll never stop being humbled by anything I create making its way to millions of people let alone billions!” Abel “The Weeknd ” Tesfaye said in a statement. “I’m so thankful this song makes people feel a way that they keep going back to listen.”

“Blinding Lights” was named the new No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 song of all time in November 2021, surpassing Chubby Checker‘s 1960 hit “The Twist.”

The superhit song, which is the second single from The Weeknd’s fourth studio album After Hours, broke chart records in 2021 after it spent 52 weeks in the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100. In April – May 2020, the song spent four weeks at No. 1.

The singer, who became the first artist in Spotify history to reach 100 million monthly listeners in February 2023, currently tops the list with 113 million monthly listners.
