Tory Lanez’ Bail Raised After Violating Megan Thee Stallion Protective Order

Tory Lanez‘s bail was raised to $250,000 after the rapper violated a protective order that that required him to stay at least 100 yards away from Megan Thee Stallion.

On Monday, August 23, Lanez appeared in an L.A. courtroom, where he was ordered to post a higher bail amount to stay out of jail while his criminal case is pending. His bail was increased from $190,000 to $250,000.

Lanez made a surprise appearance during DaBaby‘s set at the Rolling Loud Miami festival on July 25. However, his unannounced guest spot happened just minutes after Megan left the festival stage.

“You’re facing years in prison, over 22 years in prison,” Judge Keith Borjon reportedly told Lanez in court. “They could have filed an additional charge based on violating the protective order because that’s a violation of law, as well. You do not want to be doing things like this, sir.”

He added, “You have the means and the wherewithal and a lot of smart people around you to advise you as to how you should be conducting your life so we don’t have to have hearings like this.”

Last year, the Canadian rapper, whose legal name is Daystar Peterson, was charged in connection with a shooting incident involving Megan, which resulted in the “WAP” singer being hospitalized.

He faces one count of assault with a semiautomatic firearm and one count of carrying a loaded, concealed firearm in a vehicle. If convicted on both charges, Lanez faces a maximum sentence of 22 years and eight months in prison.
