Mariah Carey 'All I Want For Christmas Is You' Certified Diamond

Superstar Mariah Carey's Christmas classic "All I Want For Christmas Is You" has received diamond certification from the Recording Industry Association of America, becoming the first and only holiday single to receive the Diamond Award.

In a celebratory tweet, Carey wrote, "Diamonds are a girl's best friend," along with diamond and heart emoji. She also posted pictures of her with the Diamond Award from the RIAA for 10 million in sales and streams for the holiday smash hit.

"The continued love for my song never ceases to amaze me and fill my heart with a multitude of emotions," Carey said in a press release. "It blows my mind that 'All I Want for Christmas is You' has endured different eras of the music industry. The RIAA DIAMOND award?! Wowww! In December 2019, 25 years after its original release, the song became the second holiday single ever to hit No. 1 on the Hot 100, breaking the record for longest span from release date to the top spot.

Several AstroWorld Victims' Families Reject Travis Scott's Offer To Pay Funeral Expenses

Several AstroWorld Victims' Families Reject Travis Scott's Offer To Pay Funeral Expenses

Travis Scott's offer to pay for the funeral expenses of AstroWorld's victims has been rejected by several families.

Ten people died during a crowd surge that occurred during Scott's headlining set on Friday, November 5, at the AstroWorld festival. At the time, there were about 50,000 people attending the festival at Houston's NRG Park complex.

Attorneys for the families of four of the victims said that they received a letter from Scott's attorney, Daniel Petrocelli, in which the offer was made, but they have declined.

"It was not an offer [the Hilgerts] were going to seriously consider," saidRichard Mithoff, attorney for the family of 14-year-old John Hilgert, according to Rolling Stone. "Of all the things this case is about, that's the least of any concern."

"This family is set on making change and ensuring this never happens at a concert again," he added. "I find offering to pay for funerals frankly demeaning and really inappropriate to the magnitude of the tragedy that unfolded."

The family of nine-year-old Ezra Blount, who was the youngest victim from the festival, also told Scott's legal team they wouldn't accept his money.

Meanwhile, Scott and other organizers are facing several lawsuits, filed by more than 125 people who were caught up in incident seeking $750 million in damages.
